AN repulses attack - Herald reporter wounded

The Alliance Navy was attacked on Wednsday morning 1:00am SLT by members of several opposing factions. Members of Titan industries rolled into "The Woofer", the Alliance Navy sim, using small arms fire and phantom rounds engaging in a small fire fight from the NW side of the sim. Attempts to advance toward the AN HQ were quickly withdrawn as members of the AN held back opposition with heavy machine gun fire and Talon aircraft. Attacks carried on to 1:35 SLT when another attack was reported by security forces at "tethys", the AN sub HQ.

Members of SOCOM advanced over the draw bridge into a security post where they were met with mild resistance for a short time. After a quick briefing AN Cadets were sent in to clear out hostile forces and to secure the HQ, at which they were quickly engaged by SOCOM forces using high powered rifles and sniper fire. AN troops made haste pushing SOCOM back over the bridge to the front gate where snipers were taking up positions to fire into the AN base. The snipers were later killed by AN marines sent to hold the bridge.

The engagement at "the woofer" however carried on passed 2:20am SLT when Titan forces withdrew and SL commandos, as well SOCOM continued their attempted assault. AN troops dug in,deploying light machine guns and automatic rifles holding back the attack, when this writer (Omega Groshomme) was hit by enemy fire after identifying myself as a reporter when trying to move in for a closer photo. AN cadets fired, neutralizing the hostile forces and pulling me to safety.

While getting medical treatment from 2 rounds; 1 to my arm, 1 to my torso, I tried to carry on snapping pictures of the fight when a sniper round clips my camera leaving only 1 photo left to salvage - that of a AN Marine fighting on to hold back his enemy. The amount of gunfire slowly died down at 3:10am SLT, but sporadic shots, as well sniper fire still continued until 3:40am SLT when are hostile forces were neutralized by officers of the AN using Talon aircraft. strafing the hillside with cannon fire and light bombs.

AN forces held their ground today against a determined enemy, proving their abilities to negotiate tactics as well saving the life of a reporter. Low casualties were reported for the AN, but none were able to be interviewed until the mess is cleaned up and proper intel is received. I am making a full recovery and will be back on the battlefield in no time to let the public know of AN's progress in the on going war.

Odd that, Kristian. We get attacked several times a day too. The reason I expect this was reported is that it was such a catastrophic faliure on the part of Titan Industries and their buddies. Oh, and Mr Groshomme was just visiting (unarmed, I might add), with no intention of writing an article, when he was viciously spawn-killed by the enemy forces. I can see why it didn't go down too well.

And Natasha, is anyone making you read this 'shit'? Kinda reminds me of Inuyasha Deere, who (despite claiming that he was not interested in the slightest) contuned to post raving comments on Mr Groshomme's previous article.

i'm not complaining about the fact that this article is about the AN istead of Mercz. If you wrote the same article for mercz it would still be bullshit. so if you don't want to read as much SL combat, don't read them and don't post unless you are a hypocrite of course, either way I find that the combat articles the only thing worth reading on the SLH

Nice propoganda. Reporters shouldn't be armed and sporting Alliance Navy armor. There were about two of the four folks there whom worked for Titan, none of which whom were wearing Titan tags at the time. The "raiding" party secured the field quite nicely before the simulator crashed, at which time they opted not to return-- as it is strategically poor to walk into a prepared situation with a small number.

SOCOM, sadly, were only hindering the whole thing with their flying around and firing indiscriminately. They had nothing to do with the others, and happened to be there at the same time.

With all due respects, well written for its purpose. Otherwise, entirely bias.

After the continued fight, the sim went under to much stress and ended up crashing, so I did not return afterwards as I did not feel the need to continue any more. Oh, and as for using phantom rounds, if you're gonna spread slander, make sure it's truth instead of total lies.

I'm personally not so impressed with the AN, after reading this article I was infact intrigued in joining their group, I even sent an application, then while hanging outside the base just to see what is going on their recruits open fire so of course me and a friend take up arms. Hell, the fact that they are regarded as the strongest military presence on the grid but they -still- have time for antics is testimony to their outlook. I'm a Commando SL Captian and this is a one sided story about AN. Let me fill you all in on the full story as of late.
AN has been attack at least 3 times a day for the past month. The woofer has too many cadets that do not know the SLSALT rules, even though AN signed the treaty. The reason why they do not follow the SLSALT is because Cadets do not even have a copy to read, and the don't care about rules. Sparta is an ally of AN. They are now to be banned and shot on sight on Commando land because last week they attacked the base and used phantom bullets and shields. Not only that, they made racest spamming comments throughout the fight(for more information on this attack feel free to contact JeanCyril Wise, CSL CO). In the "battle at the woofer", Titan Industries did not use their Titan tags. And under SLSALT. you can only declear war or attacker that attacked you, or you attacked, that have their tags on. Titan decleared war on Titan and put all Titan workers on the AN Kill on Sight list. If you would like a copy of AN's KOS list go to the Woofer. Now about another of AN's allies. SLSN, attacks CSL and owns land of their own. Their own land is very well hiden, as well are their groups. They attack us, but they do not make it so we can attack them. The last attack that was constructed on SLSN was succesful, and the land was found on Search. Members of the attack tried to make Landmarks on SLSN land but where not allowed to. Now The SLSN Search for the land does not show. SLSN in unattackable. Therefor, how are they allowed to attack under SLSALT?

...WTF? Not only is your little troll post nearly two months after the article was written (in which the AN has moved to a new sim called Dorien), but SLSN has changed sims as well. If for some reason you aren't capable of finding the headquarters of interest that you wish to attack (which given the intellect displayed by your post, I would not doubt), you can always ASK the members of the enemy faction where their base is. Now, I think it'd be in everyone's best interest if you put the rifle down and went back to trying to hammer a square peg into a circular hole. Oh, and here... don't forget your drool cup.
